दहशत के पिटारे से, एक डरावनी कहानी, जिसे मौत का खेल (maut ka khel) कहना ही, सही होगा| एक ऐसा भूतिया खेल, जिसमें कई लोगों ने मौत को गले लगा लिया| एक शहर के कोने में, एक भूतिया घर था| उसकी दहशत की ख़बर से सभी शहरवासी परिचित थे| उस घर के आस पास कई एकड़ ज़मीनों तक, कोई घर नहीं बना था| दरअसल उस घर के आस पास कोई रहना ही नहीं चाहता था| एक बार एक टेलिविज़न सीरियल डायरेक्टर, उसी भूतिया घर में, एक लाइव रिकॉर्डिंग सीरियल, शूट करने का मन बनाता है, जिसका नाम वह मौत का खेल रखता है| इस खेल में, चुने हुए प्रतिभागियों को, भूतिया घर के अंदर, पूरी रात गुज़ारनी होगी और इस दौरान, हर कमरे में कैमरे लगे होंगे, जो इनके डर भरे पलों को रिकॉर्ड करेंगे और अंत में जो प्रतिभागी, बिना डरे पूरी रात गुज़ार लेगा, उसे एक करोड़ की इनामी राशि दी जाएगी| सीरियल डायरेक्टर, मौत का खेल की घोषणा सारे शहर में कर देते हैं, लेकिन उन्हें प्रशासन का, एक नोटिस आता है कि, आपको उस घर में शूटिंग करने की इजाज़त नहीं मिल सकती| वह घर ख़तरे के दायरे में आता है| सीरियल डायरेक्टर बहुत नामी हस्ती था, इसलिए वह निजी तौर पर, प्रतिभागियों की ज़िंदगी की सुरक्षा की गारंटी ले लेता है और कुछ शर्तों को लागू करने के बाद, प्रशासन से उस भूतिया घर में सीरियल रिकॉर्ड करने की मंज़ूरी मिल जाती है, जिसके लिए उसे दो गुने पैसे ख़र्च करने पड़ते हैं| प्रशासन की परमिशन मिलते ही पूरे शहर में, मौत का खेल के पोस्टर चिपक जाते हैं|
मौत का खेल शहर में होने वाला था, लेकिन लोगों में उत्साह से ज़्यादा, दहशत भरी हुई थी| पूरे शहर को यक़ीन था कि, इस प्रोग्राम में हिस्सा लेने वाले लोग, ज़िंदा नहीं बचेंगे, लेकिन ये दुनिया तरह तरह की इंसानों से भरी है| उस प्रोग्राम में इनाम की लालच में, कुछ लोग हिस्सा लेने पहुँचते हैं| सभी प्रतिभागियों को, उनके नम्बर दिए जाते हैं और साथ ही, उनके हाथ में, एक इलेक्ट्रिक ब्रेसलेट बाँधा जाता है| यदि उन्हें डर लगे तो, वह उसमें लगी बटनों को दबाकर, इस प्रोग्राम से बाहर आ सकते हैं| प्रतिभागियों में 12 लड़के और तीन लड़कियाँ होती हैं| दिन के समय ही, बिल्डिंग के कमरों में, कैमरे लगा दिए गए थे, क्योंकि रात को भूतिया आत्माएँ, उस बिल्डिंग के कमरों में दहशत का तांडव मचाती है और रात के समय, अंदर जाने की हिम्मत, बहुत कम लोग ही जुटा पाए थे| एक एक करके सभी प्रतिभागी, अंदर चले जाते हैं| सभी अपने नंबर के हिसाब से, अपने कमरे को चुनते हैं और अंदर जाते ही सभी को अंदर से ताला लगाकर, चाभी बाहर फेंकनी होती है| दरवाज़े का ताला इलेक्ट्रॉनिक बनाया गया था|
उनके हाथ में लगे ब्रेसलेट के बटन दबाते ही, वह ताला खुल सकता था, लेकिन यह बात उन्हें बतायी नहीं गई थी| अगर किसी प्रतिभागी ने, वह ताला खोला तो, प्रतिभागी प्रतियोगिता से बाहर हो जाएगा, जो कि कैमरे की रिकॉर्डिग में दिखाई देगा| सभी के कमरे में निर्देश देने के लिए स्पीकर लगाए गए थे| उसी से सभी को संकेत दिया जाता है कि, सभी जल्द से जल्द अपने कमरे का ताला बंद करके, चाबी दरवाज़े के नीचे से बाहर फेंके और इसके बाद, कमरे की लाइट बंद की जाएगी| निर्देशों के अनुसार सभी, अपने कमरे को अंदर से बंद कर देते हैं और चाबियाँ दरवाज़े के नीचे से फेंक देते हैं| कैमरे नाइट मोड रिकॉर्डिंग के अनुरूप लगाए गए थे, इसलिए भले ही प्रतिभागियों के कमरे में अंधेरा हो, लेकिन दर्शकों को टेलीविजन स्क्रीन में, सब कुछ नज़र आ रहा होता है| धीरे धीरे डर की दस्तक हो जाती है| प्रतिभागियों में से, एक लड़की अचानक, अपने कमरे में चीखने लगती है| उसे ऐसा लगता है कि, कोई उसका गला दबा रहा है और वह छटपटाने लगती है| कुछ ही देर में वह, डर से बेहोश हो जाती है| उसके बेहोश होते ही, लाइव सीरियल देख रहे दर्शक घबरा जाते हैं| अचानक एक एक करके सभी प्रतिभागियों पर, भूतिया हमले होने लगते हैं, लेकिन ताज्जुब की बात तो यह थी, कि सभी प्रतिभागी अपने आपको, स्वयं ही नुक़सान पहुँचा रहे थे| कैमरे की रिकॉर्डिग में, साफ़ साफ़ नज़र आ रहा था| कोई अपने चेहरे पर खरोंच रहा था तो, कोई अपना गला दबा रहा था और तो और, कई तो अपना सर, भी दीवार से मारकर घायल कर रहे थे| दर्शकों का डर बढ़ते देख, बिल्डिंग के नज़दीक, सरकारी अधिकारी पहुँच जाते हैं क्योंकि, प्रोग्राम को प्रशासन की शर्तों के अनुरूप रिकॉर्ड करने की परमिशन दी गई थी, जिनमें से एक शर्त यह भी है कि, यदि किसी प्रतिभागी को शूटिंग के दौरान, मेडिकल की ज़रूरत पड़ेगी तो, तुरंत डॉक्टर उपलब्ध करवाया जाएगा और जब सभी प्रतिभागियों को, लाइव रिकॉर्डिंग में चोट लगने लगती है तो, सभी प्रोग्राम को रोकने की आवाज़ उठाने लगते हैं| रातोरात प्रशासन पर दबाव बढ़ जाता है| दर्शकों में दहशत फैलते देख, प्रोग्राम का प्रसारण रोकने के आदेश आ जाते हैं| तुरंत प्रोग्राम का टेलिकास्ट रुक जाता है और अब जद्दोजहद होने लगती है, सभी प्रतिभागियों को बचाने की| फ़ायर ब्रिगेड की गाड़ी बिल्डिंग के बाहर पहुँचती है, लेकिन रात के समय, उस भूतिया बिल्डिंग के अंदर जाने की हिम्मत, फ़ायर फाइटर्स की भी नहीं होती|
सभी बाहर से खड़े होकर, प्रतिभागियों की मौत का तमाशा देख रहे थे क्योंकि, सभी उस बिल्डिंग के खूनी इतिहास से, अच्छी तरह वाक़िफ़ थे| कमरे में लगे हुए स्पीकर की मदद से, सीरियल का डायरेक्टर, प्रतिभागियों को ब्रेसलेट का बटन दबाकर बाहर आने का निर्देश देता हैं, लेकिन किसी प्रतिभागी को, स्पीकर से कोई आवाज़ सुनाई नहीं देती और न ही प्रतिभागी, इतने कंट्रोल में थे कि, वह ब्रेसलेट की बटन दबा सकें| देखते ही देखते, सभी प्रतिभागी लाइव रिकॉर्डिंग में ही, आत्महत्या कर लेते हैं, लेकिन सब जानते थे कि, यह भूतों के द्वारा, किया गया नरसंहार है| सुबह होते ही, सबकी लाशें निकाली जाती है और सीरियल डायरेक्टर को भारी मुआवज़े के साथ, कई साल की जेल की सज़ा सुनायी जाती है और उस बिल्डिंग को, हमेशा के लिए “नो विज़िट ज़ोन” घोषित कर दिया जाता है और इसी के साथ यह कहानी समाप्त हो जाती है|

Game Of Death
From the Pandora's Box of terror, comes a terrifying story, which would be best described as "The Game of Death." A haunted game in which many have met their demise. In a corner of the city, stood a haunted house. All the city dwellers were familiar with its terrifying reputation. For acres around the house, no other houses had been built; in fact, no one wanted to live anywhere near it. One day, a television serial director decides to shoot a live recording of a serial in that very haunted house, which he names "The Game of Death." In this game, selected participants would have to spend the entire night inside the haunted house, and cameras would be placed in every room to record their moments of terror. The participant who manages to spend the entire night without fear would receive a prize of one crore rupees. The serial director announces "The Game of Death" throughout the city, but he receives a notice from the administration stating that he cannot be granted permission to shoot in that house. The house falls under a restricted zone. The serial director was a very famous personality, so he personally guarantees the safety of the participants' lives, and after agreeing to certain conditions, he receives permission from the administration to record the serial in the haunted house, for which he has to spend double the amount of money. As soon as the administration's permission is granted, posters of "The Game of Death" are plastered all over the city.
"The Game of Death" was about to take place in the city, but instead of excitement, there was more terror among the people. The entire city was convinced that the people participating in this program would not survive, but this world is full of all kinds of people. Driven by the lure of the prize money, some people arrive to participate in the program. All the participants are given their numbers, and an electric bracelet is tied to their wrists. If they feel scared, they can press the buttons on the bracelet to withdraw from the program. There are 12 boys and three girls among the participants. During the day, cameras were installed in the building's rooms, as ghostly spirits were said to wreak havoc in the rooms at night, and very few people dared to enter after dark. One by one, all the participants went inside. Each chose their room according to their assigned number, and upon entering, they had to lock the door from the inside and throw the key outside. The door locks were electronic.
The locks could be opened by pressing a button on the bracelet they were wearing, but this information was not revealed to them. If any participant opened the lock, they would be disqualified from the competition, which would be visible in the camera recording. Speakers were installed in each room to give instructions. Everyone was instructed to quickly lock their room from the inside, throw the key under the door, and then the room lights would be turned off. Following the instructions, everyone locked their rooms from the inside and threw the keys under the door. The cameras were set up for night mode recording, so even though the participants' rooms were dark, the viewers could see everything on their television screens. Gradually, fear began to set in. One of the female participants suddenly started screaming in her room. She felt as if someone was strangling her, and she began to struggle. Soon, she fainted from fear. As soon as she fainted, the viewers watching the live show became frightened. Suddenly, one by one, all the participants began experiencing ghostly attacks, but surprisingly, all the participants were harming themselves. The camera recordings clearly showed this. Some were scratching their faces, others were strangling themselves, and some were even hitting their heads against the wall, injuring themselves. As the audience's fear intensified, government officials arrived near the building because the program had been granted permission to be recorded under specific administrative conditions. One of these conditions stipulated that a doctor would be immediately available if any participant required medical attention during the shooting. When all the participants began to sustain injuries during the live recording, calls to stop the program erupted. The pressure on the administration mounted overnight. Seeing the panic spreading among the audience, orders were given to halt the program's broadcast. The program was immediately taken off the air, and a desperate struggle ensued to rescue all the participants. Fire trucks arrived outside the building, but even the firefighters lacked the courage to enter the haunted building at night.
Everyone stood outside, watching the spectacle of the participants' deaths, as they were all well aware of the building's bloody history. Using speakers installed in the room, the serial's director instructed the participants to press the button on their bracelets to exit, but none of the participants could hear any sound from the speakers, nor were they in a state to press the buttons on their bracelets. Before long, all the participants committed suicide during the live recording, but everyone knew that this was a massacre orchestrated by ghosts. The next morning, the bodies were recovered, and the serial director was sentenced to several years in prison with a hefty fine. The building was declared a "no-visit zone" forever, and with that, the story ends.
