एक बहुत ही ख़ूबसूरत गाँव था| जिसका नाम था बीरनगर| यहाँ सभी लोग बहुत ख़ुशी ख़ुशी से रहा करते थे| गाँव में सभी कुछ अच्छा चल रहा था, और इसी बीच अमेरिका से एक फ़ैमिली अपने पुश्तैनी घर में रहने आती है, उस परिवार में पति पत्नी और उनका छोटा सा बेटा थे, जो अपने हवेली में रहने आए थे|
सभी के आते ही गाँव वालों में ख़ुशी की लहर दौड़ पड़ी, क्योंकि यह फ़ैमिली कोई और नहीं बल्कि इसी गाँव में रहने वाले एक पुराने ज़मींदार की थी, और गाँव वाले उनकी बहुत इज़्ज़त करते थे| सब कुछ ठीक चल रहा था, लेकिन अचानक एक दिन इस परिवार के बच्चे की तबीयत अचानक बिगड़ने लगती है| सभी को लगता है, मौसम का परिवर्तन हुआ होगा| लेकिन बात तो कुछ और ही थी|धीरे धीरे लड़के का चेहरा नीला पढ़ने लगा|
आनन फ़ानन में परिवार ने डॉक्टर को बुलाया, और डॉक्टर को भी कुछ समझ नहीं आया तो, उसने पास में ही बने एक हॉस्पिटल में उन्हें स्वास्थ्य परिक्षण के लिए आमंत्रित किया ताकि बच्चे की बीमारी का पता लगाया जा सके| परिवार ने डॉक्टर की सलाह अनुसार हॉस्पिटल जाना ज़रूरी समझा। सारे परिक्षण होने के बाद भी कुछ नहीं हासिल हुआ। जैसे ही सारा परिवार गाँव पहुँचा, तो गाँव के कुछ बुजुर्गों ने बच्चे की हालत देखकर उन्हें ओझा के पास जाने को कहा। आज भी गांवों में पुराने रीति रिवाज़ के अनुसार झाड़ फूँक करके इलाज करने की प्रथा क़ायम है। परिवार सभी सदस्य बच्चे के लिए ओझा के पास भी जाने को तैयार हो गए । गाँव के पास ही पहाड़ी में एक बाबा रहते थे। जो की काली विद्या में भी माहिर थे।
जैसे ही उनके आश्रम की सीढ़ियों में वह बच्चा अपने परिवार के साथ पहुँचा तो, ओझा ज़ोर ज़ोर से चिल्लाने लगे| “तू क्यों आयी है, इतने बरसों के बाद भी तेरा बदला शांत नहीं हुआ”, यह सब सुनकर बच्चे के माता पिता और गाँव वाले दहशत में आ गए। उन्हें समझ नहीं आया कि बाबा को इतना क्रोध क्यों आ रहा है, जबकि उन्हें अभी तक कोई बात बतायी नहीं गई। लेकिन बाबा तो काली माया में पारंगत थे। इस वजह से उन्हें रूहानी ताक़तों को पहचानना आता था।
सभी लोगों ने आश्रम में प्रवेश किया, लेकिन बाबा ने केबल उस बच्चे को पास आने को कहा। बच्चे की हालत बहुत ही ख़राब थी। उसकी आंखें लाल हो चुकी थी,उसका शरीर नीला दिखाई पड़ रहा था, और उसके शरीर का तापमान आम बुखार से कहीं ज़्यादा था।
ओझा ने विभूति उठाकर के बच्चे के मुँह पर फेंका। बच्चा ज़मीन पर लेट गया, और ज़ोर ज़ोर से हाथ पैर हिलाने लगा, किसी को कुछ नहीं समझा रहा था, कि बाबा कि विभूति से क्या चमत्कार हुआ कि बच्चा अपने आप ज़मीन पर लेटकर ऐसी हरकतें करने लगा। तभी अचानक बच्चा अपने पैर की उंगलियों के बल खड़ा हो जाता है, और बहुत ही खूंखार औरत की आवाज़ में ओझा को उसके पुराने नाम से बुलाया “अरे वो प्रेमनाथ मैं तुझे नष्ट कर दूंगी”, लड़के का ऐसा स्वर सुनकर उसके माँ बाप घबरा गए, लड़के को इस अवस्था में देखकर उन्हें कुछ समझ नहीं आ रहा था, कि ऐसा क्यों हो रहा है। तभी ओझा ने एक मंत्र पढ़कर बच्चे को अपने क़ाबू में किया। सारे गाँव वाले ओझा से पूछने लग। बाबा ये सब क्या ह। यह बच्चा ऐसा क्यों कर रहा ह। तभी ओझा ने बताया कि, इसके अंदर कोई चुड़ैल आ चुकी है, जो कि आज 70 साल पहले चोरी के आरोप में ज़िंदा जला दी गई थी।
उसे ऐसी सजा देने वाले कोई और नहीं बल्कि इसी बच्चे के दादा जी थे, और वह चुड़ैल अपना बदला लेने इसलिए आयी है, क्योंकि वह गर्भवती अवस्था में ज़िंदा जली थी। और उसके कोख में पल रहा मासूम बच्चा भी जल गया, इसी वजह से वह उस वंश बच्चे को भी दर्दनाक मौत देना चाहती है, ताकि उसका बदला पूरा हो सक। ये सारी कहानी जानने के बाद उसके परिवार वाले ओझा के सामने गिड़गिड़ाने लगे, और अपने बच्चे की जान की भीख माँगने लगें। तभी ओझा ने अपनी घोर तपस्वी शक्ति से मंत्रों के उच्चारण के साथ उस चुड़ैल को मासूम बच्चे से बाहर निकाल दिया और कुछ ही क्षणों में बच्चा सामान्य हालत में आने लगा। सभी को लगा की सब कुछ हमेशा के लिए ठीक हो गया, लेकिन यह तो एक शुरुआत थी।

As soon as the family returned to the village, some of the village elders, seeing the child's condition, advised them to go to a witch doctor. Even today, in villages, the practice of treating illnesses through exorcism and traditional rituals still exists. All the family members agreed to take the child to the witch doctor. There was a baba (holy man) living in the hills near the village, who was also an expert in black magic.
As soon as the child, along with his family, reached the steps of his ashram, the witch doctor started shouting loudly, "Why have you come? Even after so many years, your revenge is not yet satisfied!" Hearing all this, the child's parents and the villagers were terrified. They couldn't understand why the baba was so angry, especially since they hadn't told him anything yet. But the baba was proficient in black magic. Because of this, he could recognize spiritual forces.
Everyone entered the ashram, but the baba only asked the child to come closer. The child's condition was very bad. His eyes were red, his body looked blue, and his body temperature was much higher than a normal fever.
The sorcerer picked up some sacred ash and threw it on the child's face. The child fell to the ground and started thrashing his arms and legs violently. No one understood what miracle had occurred with the sorcerer's ash that made the child lie on the ground and behave like that. Then suddenly, the child stood up on his toes and, in the voice of a very fierce woman, called the sorcerer by his old name, "Hey Premnath, I will destroy you!" Hearing the boy's voice, his parents were terrified. Seeing the boy in this state, they couldn't understand why this was happening. Then the sorcerer recited a mantra and brought the child under his control. All the villagers started asking the sorcerer, "Baba, what is all this? Why is this child behaving like this?" The sorcerer then explained that a witch had possessed him, a witch who had been burned alive 70 years ago for theft.
The one who had given her this punishment was none other than the child's grandfather, and the witch had come to take revenge because she had been pregnant when she was burned alive. The innocent child in her womb had also been burned, and that's why she wanted to give this child of that lineage a painful death so that her revenge could be complete. After hearing this whole story, the family members started pleading with the sorcerer and begging for their child's life. Then, with his intense ascetic power and the chanting of mantras, the sorcerer drove the witch out of the innocent child, and within moments, the child began to return to normal. Everyone thought that everything was fine forever, but this was just the beginning.
