तो ये सभी चीजें एक बहुत बड़ी अनहोनी की ओर इशारा कर रही थी। लगभग 15 दिन तक ये सिलसिला ऐसे ही चलता रहा। गांव के अंदर कुछ ऐसे लोग भी थे जो भक्ति पाठ किया करते थे और कुछ लोगों के पास थोडी बहुत तांत्रिक विद्या भी थी। वो भी अपनी ओर से इस चीज़ को रोकने की पूरी कोशिश कर रहे थे। लेकिन ये चीज़ रुकने के बजाय बढती ही जा रही थी। किसी को कुछ समझ में नहीं आ रहा था कि इससे छुटकारा कैसे पाया जाए ? आखिर 15-20 दिन के बाद यह तकलीफ अपने पूरे चरम पर पहुँच चुकी थी। और अब गांव के लोगों को भी यह नुकसान पहुंचाना शुरू कर चुकी थी। रात के दूसरे पहर के बाद गांव में एक अलग ही भयानक माहौल बन जाया करता था। जो काफी डरावना होता था, यानि उसे देखकर किसी का भी कलेजा फट जाए, रात के समय गांववाले अपने घरों में पूरी तरह से बंद रहते थे। रात के समय में कोई चिडिया का बच्चा भी बाहर पैर नहीं रखता था। अब उस जमाने में कोई लाइट वगैरह तो थी नहीं। लोगों के पास केवल लालटेन हुआ करते थे।
और लोग उस लालटेन को अपने घर पर पूरी रात जलाकर रखते थे क्योंकि जैसे ही अंधेरा होता था। तो कुछ ऐसी घटनाएं होने लग जाती थी जिसे देखकर लोग डर जाते थे। लेकिन जब तक थोडा बहुत उजाला रहता था यानी घर में कोई भी लालटेन वगैरह जलती रहती थी। तो डर थोडा कम रहता था।
रात के एक पहर के बाद में पूरे गांव में अचानक लाल कलर की रौशनी बढ़ जाया करती थी और कभी अचानक से गुप्त अंधेरा हो जाया करता था। कभी ज़ोर ज़ोर से किलकारियों की आवाज आती तो कभी चीखने की आवाजें आती तो कभी कभी जोर जोर से हंसने की आवाजें आती थी। ये आवाजें इतनी ज़ोर ज़ोर से हुआ करती थी कि गांव के लोग अपने कानों को बंद कर लिया करते थे। बच्चों को पलंग के नीचे छुपाकर रखा करते थे, लोग अपने बच्चों के कान के ऊपर मोटे कपडे बांधने लगे कि कहीं ये इस प्रकार की आवाजें सुनकर बुरी तरह डर न जाए।
अब दोस्तों आज तक आपने ये तो सुना होगा कि चुडैल हुआ करती है, प्रेतात्माएं हुआ करती है डायन हुआ करती हैं। लेकिन पहली बार मेरे गांव के दादा जी ने मुझे बताया की इससे भी ऊपर की लेवल की चीजें और हुआ करती है, जिसे जोगनी कहा जाता है। अब दोस्तों ये जोगनी क्या होती है इसके बारे में, उन दादाजी ने भी मुझे कुछ नहीं बताया। जब मैंने उनको कहा कि मुझे यह स्टोरी लोगों को सुनानी है तो उसके बावजूद भी उन्होंने मना कर दिया कि इसके बारे में ज्यादा जानकारी में नहीं दे सकता। बस उन्होंने मुझे इतना कहा कि अगर जोगनी की नजर किसी आदमी पर पड जाए तो फिर वो आदमी हमेशा हमेशा के लिए उसके साथ गायब हो जाता है।
और गांव के अंदर उस जोगनी का ही आतंक फैला हुआ था | दोस्तों, शायद मेरे हिसाब से ये जोगनी, चुडैल डायन या
प्रेतात्माओं से भी कहीं ज्यादा पॉवरफुल होती है। हम कई हॉरर स्टोरीज में ये देख चुकें हैं की एक चुडैल या डायन तो केवल कुछ एक दो लोगों पर ही अपना प्रभाव दिखा सकती है, लेकिन यहाँ पर हम देख सकते हैं की ये जोगनी एक पूरे गांव पर अपना प्रभाव जमा रही है।
जैसा कि जोगनी के बारे में दादाजी ने मुझे बताया की जोगनी की नजर जिस इंसान पर पड जाती है वो इंसान गायब हो जाता है तो ऐसी ही घटना अब गांव के अंदर घटित होने लगी। गांव के अंदर धीरे धीरे करके आदमी गायब होने लगे। और खासकर गांव के अंदर केवल जो जवान मर्द थे, केवल वही गायब हुए जा रहे थे। औरतें गायब नहीं हो रही थी। और उसमें भी जो खासकर 20 से लेकर 30 साल की उम्र के जो लडके है उनके गायब होने की घटनाएं ज्यादा बढ रही थी। दिन के समय तो लोगों के गायब होने की घटनाएं कम थी, लेकिन रात के समय ज़्यादा लडके गायब हो रहे थे। साथियों आपको सुनकर यकीन तो नहीं होगा लेकिन एक सप्ताह को गायब कर दिया था।

अंदर उस जोगनी ने गांव से लगभग 30-40 लडकों
इस पूरी घटना को घटते हुए लगभग एक महीना बीत चुका है और पूरा गांव सहमा हुआ था, डरा हुआ था। लोगों की खेती बाडी छूट चुकी थी, लोगों का धंधा पानी छूट चुका, घर में खाने को दाने नहीं बचे है। गांव के जो लोग सब्जियां बेचने के लिए दूसरे गांव में जाया करते थे। उन लोगों का भी दूसरे गाव में जाना छूट चुका था। अब गांव में कोई भी आदमी अकेला नहीं रहा करता था ।5-5 या 10-10 लोग एक जगह झुंड बनाकर रहा करते थे।
जब गांव से लगभग 50 से ज्यादा लोग गायब हो गए। तब लोगों ने एक फैसला लिया की अब हम में से कोई भी अलग थलग नहीं रहेगा, बल्कि पूरा गांव, एक बड़े से खेत में एक साथ रहेगा। तो दूसरे दिन से ही गांव के सभी लोग अपने अपने घर से निकलकर अपना जरूरी सामान लेकर उस जगह पर पहुंचने लगे जहाँ पर सभी को एक जगह पर रहना था। दोस्तों, ये जगह गांव की थोडी सी ऊंचाई पर थी जहाँ से बाकी गांव को आसानी से देखा जा सकता था। तो सभी गांव वालों ने मिलकर यहाँ पर एक लंबी सी मिट्टी की दीवार बना दी। ताकि सभी लोग उस दीवार के अंदर ही रहें। कोई छोटा बच्चा उस जगह से बाहर ना निकलें। जब सभी गांव वाले उस एक जगह पर आकर इकट्ठे हो गए। तो अब उस जोगनी के लिए नए लडकों को उठा पाना मुश्किल हो गया था। हालांकि अभी तक उस जोगनी को किसी ने भी देखा नहीं था। वो कब आती, कब जाती किसी को कुछ पता नहीं था। लोगों को तो अगले दिन पता चल पाता था की आज रात से, इस घर से, ये लडका गायब हो गया है। लेकिन जब से सभी गांव वाले एक जगह पर थे तब से लडकों के गायब होने का सिलसिला रुक गया था।
